EDUC 555 - Primary Literacy

This course provides a developmental introduction to literacy foundations for learners in the primary grades (K-2). Based on the Science of Reading, the course is grounded in the five key components of literacy: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Professional research and writing are required components of this class. Integrating the fine and practical arts across disciplines is emphasized.

Notes: Field experience is a required component of this course.
