HADM 660 - Health Administration Capstone 6 Hour(s)
The capstone experience engages a student in a faculty-mentored project based on real-world research on a problem or project from a healthcare organization. During applied research, a student will work with identified organizations and a faulty mentor to create deliverables for the organizational client. A final project report/portfolio describes the problem, outlines the scope of the work, and presents recommendations and solutions in a professional manner. A written and oral presentation is developed and presented by the student. This course is a culminating experience for the MHA candidate to use cultural perspectives to synthesize knowledge and skills and address five key domains of health administration: communication and relationship management, professionalism, leadership, knowledge of healthcare environment, business knowledge and skills. This field work may be offered at a facility or in a virtual format. Prerequisite: successful completion of all required courses in the MHA program, or program director approval.
