RELI 265 - Religion and Migration in America 3 Hour(s)
This course explores histories and current realities of migration to the United States and the complex interplay between religions and migration. Religious conflicts can force migration; religious beliefs can enhance migrants’ resilience and health; religious commitments and groups can guide or limit humanitarian responses. Immigrants also transform religious communities and practices. As part of the course, students will engage with local and regional organizations that represent immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. The course also counts toward the REST minor and the Public Policy and Advocacy minor.
