EDUC 676 - Professional Communication

This course is designed to aid school leaders in developing their communication skills in the interest of clear, concise, and appropriate written and oral interactions with all stakeholders. Candidates will practice writing in a variety of contexts, including newsletters, parent communications, emails, and grant-writing, as well as gaining public speaking confidence and skill. Attention will be given to social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, blogs, school website, etc.) as avenues for growing school support and community-building. Both content and form (grammar/structure) will be addressed. The course will offer an introduction into research and writing for professional publications.
