EDUC 356 - Intermediate Literacy

This course provides an introduction to literacy for learners in the intermediate grades (3-6). Based on the Science of Reading, the course is grounded in the five key components of literacy: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Field experiences in schools or related settings are required. Prerequisite: EDUC 355 or permission of the Director of Teacher Education; Admission to
Teacher Education is required.
