EXER 225 - Physical Activity Leadership thru Servic 3 Hour(s)
The content of this course includes (1) current physical activity guidelines for Americans, (2) health-related physical activity components and programming, (3) equity issues around physical activity participation, and (4) leadership skills for health and physical activity promotion. Students will support health-related physical activity, committing at least thirty (30) hours of service toward promoting physical activity in the community. Through course work and service, students will (1) develop leadership skills in a community setting, (2) apply information from guidelines and peer-reviewed articles to support their service, and (3) challenge their own assumptions, attitudes, and beliefs surrounding physical activity participation and equity. May be repeated once with permission of the instructor.
