PUBH 150 - History of Public Health 3 Hour(s)
This course will provide students with an understanding of how the field of public health has evolved. An overview of the historical trends of changes in disease patterns and the emergence of public health as a field of study will be explored. Some areas to be explored in this course include urbanization, epidemics and pandemics, vaccination and the law, the relationship between medicine and public health, tensions between civil liberties and public health, hygiene and morality, and eugenics.
